EPA site has something everyone
Want
to know which fish are safest to eat? Wondering about the most environmentally
friendly way to mow your yard? What kind of water heater to buy? Which
used vehicles are the most green? Or maybe you are looking for some
educational entertainment for your kids.
There is information and help on almost any environmental topic you can think of on The Environmental Protection Agency’s web site, www.epa.gov.
A good place to start would be the Energy Star site, www.energystar.gov which is also linked to the EPA site.
ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy to help us all save money and decrease the emission of greenhouse gases through energy efficient products and practices.
On that site you can watch the “Energy Star Video Podcast” during which a home improvement expert takes you through a real home to learn energy-saving tips.
You can click on the rooms of a home to take a room-by-room tour to learn what you can do this spring to save energy, save money and help protect the environment.
You can read the “Top 10 Tips for Renters.”
Energy Star also features stories about real families and what they did to save money and energy.
The site will give you customized recommendations from the “Energy Star Home Advisor.”
There is even something for the kids - the new Energy Star Kids Site.
